Upstate
New York
Metropolitan Club
Metropolitan Owners Club of
North America
Metropolitans were built by Austin
in England
and marketed in the United States
under Nash and Hudson nameplates as well as the American Motor Corporation
[AMC] when the two merged.
Austin
also sold the vehicle in
Europe. Metropolitans were built and sold
between 1954 and 1962. The car is 50
years old and still
appears unique. It is rarely
confused with any other vehicle although some people think it’s the one that
floats on water. Owning and
maintaining a Metropolitan can be rewarding and a lot of fun.
The Upstate New York Mets
[UNYMets] is an organization of Metropolitan owners and
associates with its membership open to anyone belonging to our national
organization, the Metropolitan Owners Club of North America
[MOCNA].
MOCNA maintains an active and informative website: www.mocna.us.
Chapters exist across the
USA
and Canada
as well as another group in England. Many of the groups maintain
extensive websites, loaded with information on our beloved Metropolitans.
That is where much of the information contained in this web can be found
in detail. Check out the list of
chapter and individual links located near the end of this article.
The list is not finite; many sites lead you to additional sites including
information, data and extensive graphics. As
they say, let’s go surfing that NET!

and members at many shows and cruises in the northeast.
